Experienced Leadership

Working for Clinton.

Janice Kovach

Janice was first elected Mayor of Clinton in 2011. She prides herself on using her voice and platform to advocate for the residents and work with local community leaders.  For the last decade, she’s championed conservative financial policies and leveraged her unique relationships with federal and state leaders to bring millions of dollars in grant money to Clinton.

Janice has been called a trailblazer, as comfortable picking up garbage on weekends or racing children down Main Street as she was leading the New Jersey League of Municipalities or directing engineers in updating Clinton’s growing infrastructure and safety needs. In fact, no other Mayor in the region rivals her depth of knowledge and leadership experience. She’s served on various boards and commissions, including the NJ Motion Picture and Television Commission.

And she’s home-grown. A graduate of Clinton Public School and North Hunterdon High School, her roots run deep and her passions sky-high for the Town of Clinton. It’s no wonder that Clinton was the perfect place for Janice and her husband Stephen to raise her three children and two Portuguese Water Dogs (and countless litters of puppies).

John Kashwick

John is running for full term on Clinton’s Town Council after being previously elected to an unexired term in 2022.  Keeping Clinton a green, affordable, and safe place to live is his goal.

He serves as the Council liaison to the Environmental and Shade Tree Commissions, volunteers with the  Conservancy Gardens, and heads the Clinton Green Team.  John has leadership positions with several conservation organizations including the National Parks Conservation Association and the Sierra Club, where he focuses on public lands management.

John has extensive experience in local government.  Recently, the NJ League of Municipalities appointed him to the Legislative Committee.  John previoiusly served as Councilman in the Borough of Closter for nine years, where he made land preservation and fiscal responsibility a key component of his tenure.

John recently retired from The New York Times from his position as a Manager in Financial Planning and Analysis. He and his husband, Jonathan, enjoy hiking with their two Labrador retrievers.  They chose Clinton for their home because of its historic character, friendly neighbors, and access to open space.

Kim Stentz

Kim and her husband, Andy, moved to Clinton 26 years ago and have raised four children here.

She has been a pharmacist for almost 30 years and still works once a week at a local pharmacy. Kim served as the Treasurer for the Clinton Public School Booster Club for six years and was a co-leader for all three of her daughters in Girl Scouts. She is fortunate to have befriended so many wonderful people through these organizations and through her children.

Kim volunteers with the Clinton Conservancy which takes care of some of the lovely native gardens around town.  She currently serves as Secretary for the Shade Tree Commission and as its liaison to the Environmental Commission.  Kim wants to preserve and nourish the safety and family-focused appeal of Clinton.
